Ppc 2003 Cd
Just got the call from Dell. My 2003 CD was supposed to ship on or before the 25th of July. They just informed my that it would be August 22nd before it would ship. Maybe they are trying to include the ROM fix with the O/S. Anyhoo looks like it will be a while before I get to play with 2003.

Supposedly, the ROM fix will be available tomorrow. We'll see if that really happens or not...

There probably will be a ROM update for 2003 users to fix the probs but it will check for wm 2003 before running. Us upgraders will have to wait patiently for the cd which is fine.

I doubt Dell would release the update on a weekend even if they could. I think they would rather release it during the week as less people would install it right away and they would have time to figure out if there are any additional problems with it and if any tweaks are needed with the installer.
If they were to release it today everyone here would probably spend thier afternoon installing the patch and if there were problems many more units would be affected by them at once. It also gives them more time to test it internally.
I'm thinking that the patch will be released sometime before Wednesday, but that's just a hunch.

I also got the robot
I'm pretty sure I got the recording around ten, then a few hours later on my voicemail an actual human saying the exact same message. Are these guys forced to call if they did something wrong; I probably would not have given the guy a hard time, but I can just imagine the vented frustration those humans are dealing with. My day is also September 8th...

Robot left message 7/23 (original ship date) telling me 9/7. Website still says 7/23??? Haven't received anything. Maybe the robot is still making phone calls and hasn't had time to update the web page yet.

PPC2003 is not on the CD included with an Axim purchase. PPC2003 is already loaded on the new Dell Axims. That CD contains usually Outlook and a bunch of other free or trial software. It also has one of the latest version of ActiveSync.

I got the robot and then the person a few hours later giving me a delivery date of 9/8 (originally scheduled to delivery 7/25. I actually called to cancel 2 of my upgrade orders. Here I am over 24 hours later and the status still shows in production. Why oh why can't they get this right?
