So far no problems. It flies! I'm going to load up some software later tonight and let everyone know if it's still running well in my thread "Oh Happy Day!"

Have u actually done the test? Go to explore in activesync then my pocket pc then databases and db_notify_events i think it is double click and it will tell u how many records.
Then do a soft reset or two and recheck the number of records in the database.

Is there a way to see the databases/db_notify from the PDA itself?
Tried using Resco explorer and the builtin file explorer, no luck.

its a generic wm2003 problem, the person at brighthand had a 5555 with the problem. Its nothing serious, you dont need it, but after many restarts it will build up. I have a05 and using the patch, because its an issue with the operating system, nothing with dells configuration

Yep. You're right. Had 51 records. Used the patch and I'm at 11.

You know this sort of sucks! I received my Axim 30 days ago. I was going to send it back today if they didn't have a fix for 2003. Well I downloaded the fix and all went well. Now I am looking at this. Yep, 23 records to start, soft reset and then I am looking at 26. I would pay to downgrade to 2002 at this point!
P.S. That fix does work it took my events down to eight. But this begs to ask what else is broken????

OK, I need an explanation - in English. I started out at 51. Installed the patch (all I did was copy the .exe int my startup items folder - the only other thing in there is Outlook) and went down to 11. I just looked at it again and it's now at 9. I then did 2 soft resets and its still at 9. Can someone please explain this? Is my patch installed correctly and is it working correctly too?
Also, what exactly are these records?

I understand from explanations on other sites that 9 is normal/acceptable.

In regards to the fix located here: http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/ppc...r2003fix.html. I am more interested in an automatic fix so am going to install, "Notification Clear Fix" except do I just download file onto pc and then execute and it will automatically install via activesync onto the ax?

CryingWolf,
Though I realize that issues like this are frustrating, I think we must all remember that WM2003 is still a new release, and as such this sort of thing is to be expected. I'm sure that the first service pack from Microsoft for it will probably resolve many of the bugs people have been reporting. Thankfully there is a fix for this particular issue.
If I remember correctly, 2002 also had its fair share of problems when it was released. I'm imagining that's why there have been 3 services releases for it so far.
