I purchased my Ax 400 on 6/19/03
I read in these forums that Dell would provide the PPC 2003 upgrade CD for free for anyone that bought their Ax after 5/23/03.

I called Dell yesterday and explained the details above, requesting my free upgrade. I was given a case #. No credit card info was requested.

I checked Dell.com this evening, and they have assigned a order # for the PPC 03 upgrade, a delivery date on/before 9/12 (!!!) and a charge of $43.67 ($29 for the CD, and $13 for S&H).

I immediately emailed Dell Customer Service and asked what is going on.

Anyone else order the free upgrade due to a post 5/23 Ax purchase and have the same experience??

they won't actually charge your credit card, thats just for their reference. i got a free case from them and they put the price of it on the website with my order, i was never charged.

Slease - Ok; thanks. Did you get an email from Dell confirming that there would be no charge (such as when the CD shipped, and the amount to credit card was $0)?

Also, seems like the 9/12 date is pretty far off for a CD that was just made available, right?
