Screen Rotation on ppc2003

Anyone, anywhere managed to rotate the screen (90deg) in PPC 2003?

I have tried:

dotPocket - Can set to rotate, then either crashes or asks for reboot and then does nothing. (ver 2.1 which does not say it will support 2003 I have to admit).

Pocket Top driver - Complains that I don't have k'board attached to comm port (as I don't own a Pocket Top keyboard). If I select the screen rotation icon I am told the unit will reset, which it does, but comes back without screen rotation.

Nyditot Virtual Display, Version 3.01 - Again am able to select the screen rotate function ,informed that a reboot will take place, it does. When the OS comes back it has a different font but the screen is not rotated.

I have seen some postings on this site (I think pre-ppc2003 launch) that sudgested that the screen can be rotated by the standard OS, I have to say that I can't find any such setting.

Any ideas?

Thanks - Mike

NYDITOT doesn't work on WM2003. They know about it and are working on a fix.

It is a standard feautre in the Kernel, windows CE, all those programs (nyditot etc.) do is change the resolution setting, using a standard API in the system, there is no control panel to access it from the Pocket PC though. Next, it runs a driver which compresses the resolution, allows you to pan and scan, and converts the very edges into draggable regions to navigate, while floating a little control for you.

I haven't tried 2003 yet, I use Nyditot on 2002 and it works great. The driver, though, probably needs to be re-implemented.

As for the font being screwed up, what sounds like is happening is that the scaling is happening, but the resolution is styaing the same, the system thinks it is in landscape, so the cleartype shadows are in the position they would be if it were landscape mode.

Hi Mike,

The only program I know that works on WM2003 is Tweaks2k2 0.9 - it is fully compatible with 2003. Someone told me that he's successfully adjusted the orientation of the screen to landscape mode.

You need to do a soft reset before it is done and remember to turn off any password protection from the device because some of the numbers are not visible and you'll end up doing a hard-reset...

This is the link to the software --

You can run this software 3 times only in the trial version so don't mess with it too much.

I'm still looking for another program doing the exact thing for WM2003.

Whats going on??

I have installed the above app, and still it dosn't work. Followed all the instructions and no joy. Device boots back up and is no different, amybe I am missing somthing.

When you rotate the screen should it be rotated in all parts of the OS or just on some apps?

Cheers - Mike
