This what happened: installed XCPUScalar, setting to 427, froze unit, soft reset, today icons gone!

OK, just before the soft-reset i used 'remover' to remove an invalid registry entry that was left over from xcpuscalar. Also as it turns out i didnt exit XCpuscalar properly because it came up with a notification error, so i had to re-install it and then un-install it again.

So where havemy icons gone and how can i get them back without doing a hard-reset or restore a backup? any help would be much appreciated.
