Pocket PC2002 recovery

Hi
My ipaq 3870 was shipped with pre-installed 2002.I believe this was an upgrade as HP initially sent them out with "2000".
Well I let my unit run flat and it self-formatted and I'm pretty sure the OS has "reverted" to 2000.
1.Is that possible?
2.How can I check?
3.Can I recover the 2002Premium(I have the little key sticker on the back..it wasn't shipped with the CD ubnfortunately)

It should still be PPC2002 if that was in the ROM. Whenever a hard reset is done it will revert back to whatever was in ROM (which is the OS rev that was in ROM). All other data is erased.

thanks Ted .the OS is listed in settings as
MS Pocket PC Version 3.0.11171(build11178)c 1996-2001 MS Corp
Do you know if that's 2002 or the original OS?

Pocket PC 2002 is CE 3.0.xxxxx. Yes you are running PPC2002.
