iTask, what, where

I've been seeing references to iTask, screenshots and so on.

I am not clear whether this is a 'built-in' function or is an add-on as the various pieces of information that I have read seem fairly evenly divided on the topic.

Can anyone point out either:

...my inability to use my own software

or

... my inability to make any sense from my last Google search.

Thanks.

iTask is on ROM I believe so I guess you could call it built in. However, HP added it on to the ppc operating system.

You should have a hardware button with a curved arrow icon. Also, you can add it to your Start menu by going to Start>Settings>Menus> select iTask.

On my 4155 there is a button next to the mail button and a shortcut in Start, Programs. Did your 1940 come with OS 2003 or 2003 Premium? I may be wrong, but I thought only the Premium had iTask. Surely someone here can confirm. Sorry not more help.

Not available via Start / Settings / Menu, and in fact the OS is CE v4.20 or MS PPC 2003 Pro, so it looks like I'm unlucky.

Sorry to hear it. To tell you the truth, I don't use it all that much. I like using Handy Switcher, Handy Launcher and HandyMenu. The folks that made iTask for HP are here: http://www.thumbsupsoft.com/ if you're interested in something similar.

I didn't use iTask at all until I read this forum! Now it is a very nice extra to have. Glad I don't have to buy every utility needed for these things!

Go to Start> Settings> Systems> iTask settings , Then you can select a label and menu you want to use on the iTask menu. You'll have the option to choose the capture function from the menu.

I guess this is what you are talking about?

I've got a 4155, so I go to Start, Programs and iTask is there. It came with the arrow button mapped to this shortcut.

If anyone wants iTask, or gigatask in its original form, go to www.gigatask.com. The thumbsupsoft web site will get you there buy rather indirectly. I used to use StarTap waaaaay back when... it had a terrific file explorer. Drag n drop well before anyone else.

Thanks for all the help!

I've got GigaTask and it looks good to me, easy to configure and use all the features that have been buried before.
