Problems Using Web Outlook through Explorer

My office uses MS Outlook for all email information. When I am on the road I can log into our web outlook (webmail) and check my mail through Explorer on my PPC when I am on the road. The only problem is that my PPC automatically logs me into webmail each time I load the page (I must have clicked the save password button the first time). Unfortunately, my wife works for the same Company and there are times when I want her to check her email also.

I have tried clearing the internet cache, cookie, and history so that it will ask for my login information again. I have also tried soft reseting after this but it always automatically logs me into the website. Is there somewhere else that I can go to clear my internet passwords, or do I have to mess with the registry? Thanks for any help....

There are two folders that you want to check:

With File explorer on your PPC check to see if you have the following folders:
\Windows\Cookies
\Windows\Profiles\Guest\Cookies

Examine the contents of those folders. If you have cookies in there that contains the IP address or the domain name of the Web Outlook page then manually delete it.

I don't have the first folder and the second one was already empty. Unfortunately, I still have the problem. Thanks for the try though.

Hmmm.... Normally that is handled by cookies. Unless the IT department has things setup differently. Have you tried contacting them?

Yes, tried them today and they said that it would be cookies also. Could this be in the registry somewhere? Also, the fact that the login is a popup window might have something to do with it? I appreciate all the help...

Since the login window is a popup, physical windows window, it probably is somewhere else. I would say a hard reset would solve the problem, but you probably don't want to do that. I have no idea where the operating system stores those save passwords...sorry.

So I was on the phone with tech support and I asked them about the problem. Here were my options:

1. Soft reset
2. Hard reset
(They didn't even mention the cookies)

Wow, what great support. Does anyone know if I can edit the registry with Pocket Mechanic? I would like to try that first.

Here's my workaround: I saved a backup after I performed a hard reset with only my dialup profile saved on it. Therefore, I can backup and restore that point whenever I need to log in with another username. Pretty sad huh?
