Half-Life 2 activation on pc

Bear with me, it is related to PPC somehow...

Half-Life 2, probably the PC game of the last few years, is released tomorrow. Unfortunately in order to play it, you have to activate it online using the developer's Steam system online.

Unfortunately, I don't have a net connection at my flat at the moment, because I'm patiently waiting for the local exchange to upgrade their broadband capacity to let me have it. What I could do is hook up my old 56k, find a cheap ISP and dial-up for a while.

But could I use my mobile phone's GPRS, to pass through my iPaq, using the cradle as I don't have a bluetooth dongle, and get access to the net on my PC from that? Prolly cheaper if I 56k it, but it has the potential to be more convenient if I can GPRS it, because I'd have to move my computer through the flat to the phoneline.

Thanks.

your mobile phone is not your ipaq? if that is the case, you most likely cannot... you will have to hook the phone directly to the pc somehow... i dont know of a way of tethering to a ppc that is not a phone...
