Alarms

I know that several others have had problems with their Axims not waking up when alarms are set. I was able to overcome this by always turning it off with software (I use HandyMenu). Somehow it doesn't go into as deep a sleep ( ?!?! ) as when I press the hardware off button.

Best,
Erik

I'm glad that HandyMenu fixed your problem with alarms
however, I have to say I'm surprised because HandyMenu simulates the hardware button beeing pressed

I assumed as much... go figure? I'm just happy that I don't have to leave it on all night to wake me up in the morning!

Hmmmm I haven't ran into this issue with my program. Are you using the built in stuff for an Alarm or something else? My Alarm Clock program is in beta right now and so far we haven't ran into any issue like this.

It's happening to me - I have a 7:00 a.m. alarm set in my calendar to wake me up and it's not going off. I haven't tested it, but this may only have started happening since I installed the latest version of Pocket Plus. Are any of you who are having this problem also using Pocket Plus for repeating alarms?

Ohayden,

It's with any calendar alarms or even the built in clock alarms. I've read that others with WM2003 (on other platforms besides the Dell) are having issues, too. I don't have any third-party clock programs installed.

Hmmm... I wonder if my application will run into these issues. I should be getting my 2003 update soon... right Dell? I'll test my program on it to see if it runs into the same issues. If not, then my program may be a better alternative for you. So far it supports custom WAV files. It has minimal support for MP3s and WMAs by launching WMP. I hope to integrate the MP3/WMA play soon.

Sounds cool. I'll check it out when it's done!

The main thing to check is letting it sit overnight. Every time I called tech support, they would walk me through setting the alarm and turning it off. A minute later the alarm would turn on the machine and ring. I tried to explain to them that it had to sit for some time, but I'm not sure that they believed me (or understood me).

I was late for work once because my alarm didn't go off! I actually had three alarms set to go off a few minutes apart. When I woke up I pressed the power button to see what time it was and all three alarms went off. Is this the same type of problem that everyone else is having?

That's the one! It may not be as big of news as the entire operating system not performing to speed, but it certainly will make a lot more people late :)

I disabled the repeating alarms and close button in pocket plus and reinstalled Gigatask on the weekend. This morning, my alarm went off fine. Go figure.

This is real frustrating. My Pocket Informant does not alarm. More alarming was that my ATalarm (set to play a .wav file) didn't work this morning. This is the first time I've tried it with a .wav and may have done something wrong. I have V3 Build 2425 but don't know if this is the latest. Does ATalarm set the volume level to it's default or the windows default? My windows volume was on a low setting.

Same problems here ... i have also heard of these
same issues with other devices and WM2003

Something about WM2003 only giving software
a few seconds processing time before it shuts it self
off again....

My alarm will ring once, the next one will come a few moments later.. definately not qualifiy for "repeating" .. and even then
its only soft alarms... very frustrating..
