Whoot, ppl who ordered recently and had september ship dates, dont worry
Well i ordered mine like yesterday morning, and they told me it ould ship september 7th and get here on the 9th-11th.
BUt much to my hapiness, it shipped today, one day after i ordered it. WHoot whooot. And since it shipped from somewhere close to me, it should be here in like 2 days instead of five.
Yeah i know most people already know they overestimate shipping dates, but im just really happy right now so i had to post.

thats awesome, I find it really hard to believe that dell was actually shipping the upgrade discs a month after it was shipping working axim units. If anything the discs should take less time to process ship.
On a side note, my axim ships august 14 :D

yeah, it seems like a sturdy unit, I will OC it if the need arises, but until then, 300mhz goodness.
Good luck everyone with your WM2003 discs

i got them to order it online for me.
all i did was send a quick email to them about it and they added it to my customer account.
i never touched the phone this time, and it was on my account within 12 hours of my email.
You cant officially order it online, but if you email there customer support about getting it, and mention that youd like to do it online if possible, they may just add it to your account for you. they did for me.

I'm assuming you're in the US?
I hope this doesn't mean that we will start seeing the same absurd pattern from Dell that we did when the Axim first came out, with people ordering the upgrade now getting their CD way before the people who ordered it back in June. There is an important lesson to be learned from all of this, apparently Dell's shipping system works backwards backorders are given a lower priority than new orders.
My delivery date still hasn't changed.

Oh and yes, i live in the USA, TX to be exact.

Did you pay shipping or get a discount on your order? I ordered mine on 7/1 and got it while Dell was running their 15% off and free shipping deal. Currently it shows a est ship date of 7/30, which has already passed and got a call last week saying the order could be delayed until 9/10.
I wonder if Dell is giving priority to people who've actually paid more and is making us "discount" shoppers wait.

No, I don't think this is anything that sinister. This is more a situation where I think there are two shipping queues at Dell, one for normal operation and one for backorders. Sadly, I think that the two departments fail to communicate too well with each other since when parts are made available, the normal department just starts shipping them out instead of waiting for backorders to go out first.
The result is this wonderfully frustrating effect which I remember also happened with the Axim's themselves when they came out. For example, if person A had ordered an Axim a week ago, and person B ordered it today, person B would get their Axim a week and a half earlier than person A.
These quirks are becoming more and more disturbing for me, not because I care when I get WM2003 (with all of the reported bugs, I'm not in a huge rush to flash my Axim), but because it makes it more and more difficult for me to recommend Dell to my friends, family, and clients after reading about these sort of things. I mean, if this would have happened when I was actually on a schedule, then frankly I'd be extremely ticked.
