What is window CE 4.2?

I just got my ipaq 5555 back and they said there was nothing wrong with it.

I have new programs on it and its running fine now. my wireless works now and now i have bluetooth connection where i had none before.

Anyway they did update the drivers, which i couldnt do before. and i can also download programs, love tweaks! i was scoping out the specs and came across OS version windows ce 4.2. (i was trying to get my wireless keyboard working. setup for win2002, is this the same thing?

thanks for answering

Version 4.2 is what my Axim shows as well. I beleive Windows Mobile is based on the build for CE. Just as WinXP is based on the NT build.

WinCE was the original name for the Windows mobile platform. 4.2 corresponds with Windows Mobile 2003, which is what I have on my iPAQ.

Kelly,

I think your keyboard driver is for Pocket PC 2002 (not Win2002, this is Windows XP), whose core OS is based on WinCE 3.0.

But your 5555 is having Pocket PC 2003, also known as Windows Mobile 2003.

So if you can find/download the WM2003 driver for your wireless keyboard, you will be able to install and use it on your 5555.

Good luck.
