wireless alert is bugging me

Is there a way to silence the alert about not being able to sense a network? When I disable my Wifi card or use my Ax without it, about every 10-15 minutes it brings up a little pop up about not being able to sense a network. Kind of annoying when I am reading.

Anyone else seen this?

Do you have the 'wireless signals off' option checked under the wireless tab in power settings?

No But I check the "turn wifi off" option from the icon on top, the card goes off but then the alert comes about 10 minutes later. It also happens when no wifi car is plugged in.

seems to be notifications in general. I have new messages so now it pops up a "view" "close" window every 5 minutes. even when watching full screen video.

Super annoying!! There must be an option to control notifications?? One pop up I like. One pop up every 5 minutes I hate.

If I can't find a workaround for this in the next few days, I'm going back to 2002, as it gets right in the way when I'm using my GPS.

Well I've fixed it!!!
It appears that it is all to do with email!
Do you have a pop3 account setup?
Look at the settings for this.
Is it set to connect and retrieve email every xxx mins?
Turn it off, and presto, no more ballons about not being able to connect.
Now this is not ideal as I used this feature to get my pop3 at work, but its better than that balloon popping up all the time.

It occured to me as every time I went into INBOX it was showing a status of connecting, and I guess it was timing out and sticking up that message.
Anyway I'm happy again, let me know if this is good for you!

Yeah... i finally got that one figured out too. I also has mine set to retrieve email from a pop3. I turned it off, and it's not bothering me anymore. for whatever reason, it tries to check mail even when it's not running.

Man that's annoying I hope there is a better fix.

I also found out that facelift suppresses 2002 notifications, it also seems to suppress 2003.
