File Explorer almost dead!

After a failed IrDA sync through activsync of ipaq 1930 that runs Pocket PC 2003 and my Dell laptop (Microsoft XP pro SP2 installed) my Pocket PC file Explorer does not seem to work. I click my device button and nothing happens. The same goes with all the buttons on the screen.
Any suggestions or clues?

P.S> everyting else works fine including the diego tree explorer I installed after that.

corrupted volitale memory from failed xfer.. time to install 3rd party explorer... like rescoe or something..

The file explorer program is in ROM so shouldn't be affected by anything. However, the settings and stuff will be in the registry which could have got corrupted.

I think the safest bet is to backup all your data (but not the registry!) - do a hard reset and reinstall any other software.

Isnt That What I Just Said, That The Loaded Instance Of The Program Is Hozed.. Of Course If You Do A Hard Reset It Will Fix It.. My Option Was To Allow The Gent To Fix It Without Doing That. Oh..and.. If You Read The Zillion Threads On This Forum About Corrupted Rom, And Having To Reflash
Their Units... That Kind Of Nulls Your Idea That Rom Is Untouchable...eh..

What about upgrade driver - patch - bugfix -etc, the program message tell you if it will write to the ROM
(usually came in cab installer format -by vendors)

Welcome to this forum.

I assume that you have soft reset your Pocket PC after this incident?

If you tried soft reset and it does not clear the problem, I agree with Steve Yates' idea of doing a hard reset.

This should fix most of the software conflicts. Be careful to backup all the PIMs and personal data before hard resetting, as Steve has warned.
