Umlouds

I've got a question to writing umlouds in my German PPC2003 Version... when I use the pen to write, there is no way to write umlouds (ä, ü, ö, ..). I try to write them as specified within the help, where you can see how to do it, but the letter will not appear... The cursor begins to blink and that it was... it always gets normal a, u, o - if I use the keyboard, it is no problem to enter these letters

Does anybody know a solution?? The help suggests only to write an a, o, u and two points above the letter....

thx
Vicente

Hi Vicente,

On an iPaq running the U.S. version of 2003, I can write umlauts using what in English is called the Letter Recognizer (input section of the screen divided into 3 sections: uppercase, lowercase, and numbers), but NOT the Block Recognizer (input section of the screen divided into 2 sections: letters and numbers, and you must use the Graffitti versions of the characters) or the Transcriber (handwriting input anywhere on the screen). The technique is as you describe: letter below the divided line, two dots above the line. My only advice: do the two dots quickly. (And, as I said, the technique doesn't work at all with the other two handwriting options.)

I hope you find a solution.

Marc

As you told - I liked to enter umlouds within the block recognizer which is my favorite input tool. I didn't find a way to do it, but like I said, the help shows how to write it....

I hope someone else has a solution because now i switched to keyboard entry, but that is not the fastest way to type on an PDA I think.

Btw: where can I find the version of my WM2003? I assumed it was a German one, but I am not sure - all the messages are german, but isn't that also possible within an US Version (Language selection)?
