oh, yes. messeges are removed from server also. so, they just dissapear...
it wouldn't bother me, if that was my pda for porn emails. but that is my bosss pda, and he just lost very important mails... i teached him to copy all mail to other folders from inbox. but still, if this is suposed to be so, thats very very stupid.

Messages just don't disappear unless either the messages is being deleted off of the server from somewhere else or they are being marked for deletion.

Uhh..guys, ironically so, I am experiencing a similar problem with accessing my Gmail account from within Pocket Outlook. Whenver I send/receive email any messages that I have already downloaded and 'read' automatically disappear from my Inbox. I looked in the other folders such as the 'Deleted Items' folder, and they weren't there. Now, unlike the guy who posted above, my messages are still available via the web at Gmail's site, but I prefer to use a pop3 email client. Is there some specific setting I should change on my Gmail settings page to prevent this? I've tried selecting the option "Keep Gmail's copy when messages are accessed via POP. To my luck, the problem still occurs. I don't know if this is a bug with Pocket Outlook or an incompatilibity issue with Gmail's servers. Either way, any help or advice that can be provided regarding this, will be truly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you make sure that nobody is running your PC at the office or at home? Because if they do and the accounts are not set to "keep copy at the server" they will disappear whenever this person switches on the mail program and downloads your email.
Just put your Outlook to copy and send your self a mail. Then put it in the cradle and download your mail on your PPC. Then set the Outlook copy OFF and sync your email again on your PPC and whoops your mail is gone.........

Hi guys,
I had this problem as well which was very annoing. Recently I decided to try new imap4 with gmail and there is another problem - some messages have just headers and no body. So I switched back to pop3, but still have this annoing problem with messages dissaperaing from inbox. Today I did some googling and found exelent tip which solves this problem! My gmail inbox now has all messages for last 30 daysand all messages have a body. I am so happy. The tip was: You have to put "recent:" in front of your user name (not e-mail address). For example, if user name is "some.user@gmail.com, it should be "recent:some.user@gmail.com". Note, this changes has to be done to user name, not e-mail address. And it works!

Nice tip - more information here
Another solution is to mark 'download headers only' and select - say - a 64k body or whatever ... But I use gmail where all my 'deleted' mails are kept so thats not a real problem for me ![]()
