Not alot really just two different systems of backup, the only obvious difference is that the activesync one has to go to pc and the axim one is stored on the handheld.

Just as oblox stated.

Also you'll note that the Active Sync is a lot slower
unless you are sync'ed over wireless network.

What I do is backup to my CF card using the backup
program then copy that backup file to my PC for storage.

I would much advise the purchase of pocket backup plus as with this backing up is very quick and enables backup to device or PC.

The Dell one will not backup certain "objects" like extra catergories on contacts etc. At least on PPC2002 that is the case, don't know about 2003. Makes it kinda useless to me.
Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

The restore from Activesync doesn't kill Activesync on the PPC!

When I restored from old backups it actually killed hte PPC activesync so that it would automatically shut down after a few seconds, I finally threw in the towel, hard reset, and reinstalled the stuff from activesync... other than this believe it or not Activesync has been very reliable, and was reliable in the restoration process after this point, I really don't see what the problem si with it, I think a lot fo the problems with ASync may actually be caused by external problems such as this Backup utility.
