too many soft resets

does it make a difference how many soft resets you do??? does it impact on your device or OS???? because every time I turn on my device due to all the programs I have installed on the SD card, it takes over a minute and a half to properly load everything, thus if I want to start using it right away after turning it on, I have to do a soft reset every time, please comment!!! also kindly suggest what to do to better my starting time other than uninstalling programs which by the way I already have with some programs I hardly ever used....

The speed issue is to do with loading all the links in your start menu to programmes on your sd card.

Create links to the programmes on your SD card in your main memory and then make sure your start menu points at these links (works for me anyway).

Apart from the possibility of wearing the soft reset button out - it shouldn't matter how many times you use it.

Do you have a soft reset programme that you can use rather than pressing the button. I have one (less than 5k) linked in my MyPDA.
Regards

Rob

I just rememebered why I asked this question in the first place, it was because I read on another thread that people were counting and concerned on the number of soft resets they had made using regking to count the boot registry key....

soft resets do nothing but clear whats loaded in ram/rom (depending on how you have things loaded originally) at the moment..it hurts nothing, the issue you are having is the operating system has to page back and forth to the card for each program you have installed on it and active in windows registry, yes you can benifit
with a huge speed upgrade by reinstalling those programs to the ipaq file store, and just keeping static software ( non active stuff like pics and movies , text files..ect)
on the sd card where speed isnt an issue for opening them. that.. is your only alternative.
