I got feed up waiting too and found the ROM that was pulled. I patched and no problems..... SD cards are still flakly for me and ppc2003 runs twice as fast as before. So my question is what was REALLY wrong with the patch and WHY did they really pull it?I think just to piss off us who bought a axim with PPC 2003 (A04) ?

Depends on what goes wrong, in some instances
you can restore your backedup rom in other instances
your Axim wont be able to even power on.. as it needs
propper instructions from the rom.... which if is corrupt......
well the rest is history

When you sold ur Axim on ebay, did u set a minimum price for it??

I would be worried that i might get ripped off selling it on ebay. perhaps maybe you might know, what is the average amount people are getting when they sell on ebay?

Thank you

keyboards.. and added that with the package to boost
the value.. I got 295 all together... my total on Dell
came to 274 they had a 10% deal and free shipping..
and I ordered with out the cradle as I never used mine before.

Sell your Axim on ebay and buy a brand new Axim :-)

I did this and actually came out 10$ ahead!
I agree with you there... :)

For those that want WM2003 so badly, trade with someone that wants PPC2002.

Id be curious how many people have done what I am considering, and flashed anyway.

Tell me, if many people who have downloaded A05 when it was up now have Axim's that are useless, whats Dell doing about it?? The patch was up legally on their site, therefore, they are responsible.

I haven't heard of many that went from A04 to A05 that ended up with trashed Axims. I read about one or so. There may be more, but I really don't know.

Of the crowd that flashed the "other" way... I know of I think three that have trashed Axims. Two were trashed before the final method was devised, and one messed up (major user error) of a procedure that was pretty straight forward or used some other method out there that was incorrect. Of all three, as far as I know Dell was replacing their Axims under warranty.

xframe88, I am from Asia Pacific too. I am wondering will Dell sent out the patch file in CD to all AP Axim owner? Since WM2003 upgrade is not available in AP too, I am not so confident that Dell is going to sent out the CD to us. I have to cross my fingers and see how everything goes.

If the correct instructions involve removing both batteries for 30 minutes, hard resetting, applying the patch thru a guest partnership (or no partnership) - then you may have to revise your numbers to 99.x%. I've got an Axim Basic with the A04 rom & it won't get past "1/13" no matter what I've tried.

If there's another method that I missed - please post the link to your instructions!

:bang: Thanks

Those are NOT the correct instructions, period.

And if your trying to find correct instructions to hack the patch, you won't find them here.

Different sort of upgrade that I can't and won't post here. Sorry.

The 100% number had nothing to do with the A04 to A05 update...
