I am new to pocket pc's, but not new to computers. I am planning on buying an ipaqhx2750. The one I am looking at is going for a great price, but has windows pocket pc 2003 FRENCH. Is it possible to format a pocketpc and install an ENGLISH version of pocket pc 2003 2nd edition? If so, is it possible to download (using bittorrent or something), or would I have to buy it from HP? And how much would it cost?

Welcome to the forum.

If you haven't bought the french hx2750, then DON'T.

Why do you want to go through much hassle to change the language if you have the choice to buy an English version from the beginning?

The fact is:
1. It's not allowed, by HP, to change the language
2. It's a painful process for a novice user to change it (and make sure it works)

So my advice would be to go for an English version straight, unless you are an adventurer.

If you really want to flash your ipaq to an english rom, you should read this :

This document has been written to upgrade an hx4700 from an 1.00 french rom to a 1.10 english rom. The author used a linux pc. It should work the same way for your hx2750.
