inbox deleting problem

hi.
anytime i have to re- set up my email on my device e.g after a hard reset i seem to have to go thru the tedious (if not expensive) process of downloading past emails that i deleted before. this is becoming quite annoying.

how can i make sure that this doesn't happen. in other words presumably there is a way of making sure emails are deleted on the server as well as in my inbox.

any advice would be great.
thanks.

1. if you have performed a backup prior to a hard reset you should be able to restore after a hard reset and not need to set up your email accounts again.
2. I've noticed that with my emial server (earthlink) (set to save msgs in PC outlook), that when I delete using pocket outlook the only time I receive the messages again when checking is if I have performed a soft reset.

sorry no clear answer, just an observation.

thanks t53186.
but anytime i restore a backup the restored email settings never seem to work for me for some strange reason.

therefore i am forced to set up my pocket outlook account again manually...
which leads to my present problem.

so i want to make sure i don't get emails that i previously deleted again when i do this.

anyone with any ideas.

Many moons ago I used a program called Eremover that would allow me to delete emails from the server prior to my email program downloading them onto my PC - I used it primarily so that I didn't download loads of spam emails.

This is the link:

It may be the sort of thing that you're looking for.

thanks.
somehow though i thought their would be a simple solution to the problem that i was just overlooking (perhaps some obscure setting in pocket outlook?). it seems unreasonable that every time i set up my account anew that i have to download unneeded emails again.
thanks anyway.
anyone else with any further insight into the problem?
