I have an ipaq 3970 with which i would like to connect to the internet via the wifi hotspots while i travel about the uk, i have a sdio 802.11b wireless lan card ( sd size ) i have been told that my pda will not accept this as it requires operating system CE, ( Dont even know what this is??? ) SO,This is where it all goes way way above my head !! So what do i need, Do, or pray for ?????
Do i need to update my pda from 2002 to 2003 os system, Is this recommended, and if so where do i get this from please ?? Still Quite a newbie to this game so Step by Step instructions would be very very much appreciated.....Thanks from....ROBBIE....

Windows CE is the underlying program for all the Pocket PC and Windows Mobile OSes since PPC2000 (Somewhat like DOS was the underlying program for Windows on the PC for many generations). Your iPaq has PPC02 which is WinCE 3.0 (in other words, you do have Windows CE).

The 3970 does have an sdio slot but you will need drivers (for PPC02) for the sdio WiFi card from the card's manufacturer. Which brand is the card?

Thanks for your reply, The sdio card i have is SAFECOM with an enable turbo mode( 108 mbps ) by software feature ( SEE that one go fly way above ME !! ) it has a product code of SWLSD1-1100, if thats any help ??
I did in fact get in touch with a guy called TAUSEEF who is from the Technical department in SAFECOM and he replied asking me what pda i had then he wrote back saying " please install windows CE on your pda, as it only works with winCE operating system ?? Did'nt say what this was, or how i go about this,--Hence,Very confused robbie!! ( very easy to confuse me though!! )
Not being at all techie minded does'nt help matters Sorry!! But i only use pda as a toy, cant do more than about 1/8th of it's capability, but hey it's fun playing being intelligent, Just one more thing please,i have read within this forum about many problems people have when they upgrade to WM2003 do you recommend this or should i continue on 2002 ??
