I have an iPAQ HX2410/15 running WM2k3. The today screen buggs me to death. I put a cool wallpaper on it but its all greyish. I DLed a theme generator that allows you to change this, but it will only work with PPC2k2. Am I missing a setting within the OS or do you have to use a 3rd party software package to accomplish this? Seems strange that it arbitrarily greys out your wallpaper and you have no say in the matter. Anyways, thanks in advance for your help!

The Microsoft Theme Generator will work for 2003 (I use it with no problems) - it's not as polished as some of the others but it's free & simple to use. You can download it from here, & ignore the bit about being only for 2002 PPC's:

Hmmm... Thats the one I downladed and was trying to use. It lets me go through the creation process but won't transfer it to my ipaq. Keeps saying something along the lines of "could not find a device running 2002" I could manually transfer the .tsk file to the ipaq and it works... Except for the stinkin today screen still being greyed out...

I get the same message when I ask it to transfer the file when finished, so I do it manually.

When you are in the generator & specifying the file (i.e. picture) to use, there is a button that will let you amend the image (not sure what it's called but it's under the filename box); then, when you're in the next page there are 2 sliders on the right - one does light/darkness, the other does transparency. If your picture is being greyed out then try messing about with the transparency slider. Unfortunately it's a case of tweaking the settings, loading the .tsk file onto the PPC & seeing if it worked, & if not doing it again.

You can also change the text colours & bar colours etc. I think this is on the screen after you've finished playing with the picture (sorry I'm being vague but the software is loaded onto my PC at home & I'm at work at the moment).
