Grrr argh - pmail and smtp

For ages I've been changing the smtp server I use to send emails based on whether I'm connected at home or via my mobile dial-up (there's a freeware utility to manage this that's quite nice - SMTPManager). This is necessary because both providers don't allow access to their SMTP servers unless using them as ISP.

Well, I thought I'd found the answer - I'm now using a mail provider that allows access to their smtp server using authentication - excellent. BUT they require the SMTP access to be to port 443 not 110... and, guess what, pmail doesn't allow you to change the port to access on the SMTP server.

Any ideas or am I back to square one?

Thanks in advance

I am not sure it will address all your SMTP issues, but have you looked at FlexMail by WebIS, the makers of PocketInformant? I've been using an ealier version for sometime and have been very happy with it (again, I am not managing as complicated a mobile mail scenario as you though).

Thanks - that looks like it'll do the job. Shame it's not free though...

It was in earlier versions. I used it when it was WebIS Mail and liked it.
