I would bet they will push back the 10/7 date even further.

I got a voicemail from Dell that was completely unintelligible. I wish I knew who the guy was so I could get him fired...

I too got the voicemail message today. The tech (spoke great english) says they are not goin to release it until it is fixed. According to him there is a problem with the "upgrade". He says it was sent back to Microsoft to get fixed. I asked him how hey can put the 2003 on the new Axim's and he says that it is two different programs. My thinking is how can that be... It is the same 2003, isn't it? Seems all you have to do is take the "working" 2003 add an installer to rewrite the rom...

Am I missing something? Is it a license thing? Cheaper for Dell to see an upgrade 2003 rather then the new program altogether?

Good thing was that I was only on hold for about 30 seconds when I Called to keep my order on order... What a stupid policy, call if you still want it. I think the policy should be call if you DON'T want it, but then I guess everyone would be calling......

It sounds like Dell had someone write a random number generator for their order status page... :P

hehehe, mine has changed to 9/4/03. I can't decide if that is good or bad....

Does that mean in the end I'll get pushed back to 10/17 or some crazy wait like that. I would just like to know when it's comming, not in a rush to get it, but some honesty would be nice.

aardwolf- I agree, seems to be random to me. Maybe they will just keep switching the dates around until they are ready to ship, then change them all to around the same date.

I too got the garbled automatic message yesterday. I gathered that my ship date had been changed to the 7th, but I couldn't hear what month. (Thanks guys, for posting it was October) Since the message said do nothing and your order will be cancelled, I think I'm going to do just that.

I called Dell yesterday afternoon to ask about that "do nothing and your order will be cancelled"... The lady claimed to not know what I was talking about, and assured me that my order would not be cancelled. We'll see...
