Error Synching Reoccuring Appointment

I have a user that has been taking notes in the text box inside of his appointments. He has been doing this on a reoccuring appointment for over a year. His notes range from one paragraph to several pages, averaging a couple pages. Recently when I tried to synch his PDA he recieved the following error: Cannot be synched because it is too large, clear the notes field or reduce the amount of exceptions. (see attachment)

As a test I removed one of the larger entries of the dates listed and tried resynching, this fixed the unresolved error.

Are there any other work arounds for this? I am just suprised because I would think 50 or so dates with notes would eat up that kind of memory?
