Browser required PIE 'dead'
Guys (and Gals)
I've spend the past few nights trawling the web, Aximsite and other forums to try and sort out my current problem.
I use my X50v to access my office system whilst working remotely.
This has been sucessful for a couple of years now, I used PIE linked to my Nokia GPRS connection, connect to my employers secure site (https) and through a secure ID token and password access my e-mail and files.
About two months ago, PIE started returning "the page you are looking for cannot be found"
After messing with my settings for a few noghts I found that other PPC users were finding the same thing on their devices.
The conclusion was that some security levels had 'moved' and PIE no longer could access secure sites.
BTW I've gone round the loop of changing registry entries to make PIE appear that it's v6.0 or higher....that doesn't cure it.
So I began, what I thought would be easy, a quest to find a new, better browser.
I've read dozens of opinions, reviews and recommendations, as well as short-comings problems and warnings.
I've tried Netfront 3.3 (but it can't handle even the thought of a proxy server, even though the setup should handle it)
I've looked at Opera, but read that there is a problem with X50v in that the display flickers and is fuzzy (or something?)
I've looked at Opera mini, but got confused over some java midlet (or whatever) I'd need to download too to make it work for PPC.
I'm really, really struggling here, my problem should be easily solved.
I'm willing to buy a copy of whatever to solve this, but don't want to waste my money on several products that claim to work but don't.
ANY ADVICE greatly appreciated. There must be lots of Aximsite members who use their PPCs to access secure sites???????????????????????????
Yours Frustratedly...
RT

Have you tried Minimo. I have no problem browsing my HTTPS email with opera 8.65 Beta. maybe there is something in the settings you have overlooked?

Thanks Pedah, I guess you're using WM5, whilst I loaded the WM2003SE version of the beta

I am but I haven't seen any reports of HTTPS disfunctionality until your post and I'm wondering if there is something in permissions or other that you are missing, and with PIE cause I have PIEplus I seem to be able to access everything except some strange java sites like one of my email adresses. walla.com.

Yes, it's a little strange. I obviously thought it was a setting on my PPC until I found (admitedly in other site forums) similar problems.
BTW I also tried PIEPlus, didn't solve my issue.

Hello,
I'm using Opera with my X50v WM2003 SE and it works very well, don't know if it will do what you need at work, but operation on my machine is flawless.
