CHAP version?

Does anyone happen to know what version of Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) Windows Mobile 2003 supports for VPN connections? I think this might be my problem connecting to my university... they only support MS CHAP v2.

And while we're at it, has anyone been able to find anything matching the description of documentation for WM2003? I can't find any WM2003 specific documentation (technical or otherwise) ANYWHERE, including Microsoft's PPC website. My new Ax came with WM2003, so I don't exactly have a choice about this...

Troy,
Looks like we will be in the same boat soon. I just got my Ax and I am waiting for my WiFi card to arrive. I am at Purdue and they will not support PPC 2003 on or airlink network either. I'mm looking for information, which will probably lead me to calling them in the next few days. I'll keep you informed if I can figure anything out.

I used my PPC to VPN to my network from home and it uses MS CHAP v2 for authentication, so you should not have any problem connecting (at least from that standpoint).

Not doubting you or anything, but how do you know that WM2003 uses CHAP v2? If you have some kind of technical documentation, I'd love to have it.

I just got an email from my university (IUPUI if anyone's interested). Apparently, Microsoft changed "something" about it's PPTP implementation in WM2003. PPC2002 worked just fine. Go figure.

IUPUI has contacted Microsoft about this issue, but just recently. Judging from past experience, there will eventually be a fix or workaround. At least for connecting at this particular campus of this particular university, anyway...

My Ax came with WM2003. I wish like hell it had come with PPC2002 since no one seems to support WM2003...

Grrrr.

Just got the WiFi card today. I'll try to get it working here and let you know what happens.
