I had an X50V that would crash IE whenever a complex site came up (like Realclearpolitics.com). It could handle simple sites.
The X50V had a hardware problem (power-related), so I did a swap with Dell and got a rebuilt X50V. The same thing is happening.... I can surf on some sites, but RCP crashes as soon as it begins to come up. Every time. Also a complex British newspaper.
And FoxNews does not come up - period.
I have 2003 A05 - am running wireless off a DSL modem/router -- no speed problems with most sites....
Anybody have ideas why this is so? My temp files are empty - not sure where cache is located at (if this is a problem)
how much free memory do you have... a complex page may use up all your ram, and hence shut down pie.
try turning off images, and you may want to try opera mobile

Yes, I have encountered this. I believe Cnet does the same thing, and a few other sites.
I really don't think it is memory related though because I normally have 40MB of RAM available to use and PIE doesn't seem to use that much memory..
I would avoid Minimo as it is extremely slow for WM2003. For Opera, you have to buy it..
I don't know how well ftxpbrowser works with the sites. I haven't run into any problems except on forums where I usually could not post with the browser, as opposed to PIE.
PIE gives me the same problem. I think it has to do with sites that have Flash content. My home page is at bellsouth.net and it has a small Flash advertisement in one corner. The page will load fine until it gets to that location and then PIE just closes. Works fine on most sites, but those with heavy graphics and Flash just seem to cause it to crash.
Andy mentioned opera, I also use PIE with PIEplus, but I find after excessive browsing [ which I do all the time] my best friends are pocket mechanic and memmaid, I clean everything out regularly and it seems to keep browsing fast. At the Opera site you can still get the Opera 6.5 beta, that is valid till October first, you could try that.
