Access Database and Axim X30 WM2003
I maintain the motorcycles for a safety program, and I'm developing a database with Access to make the job a bit smoother.
Ideally, I could whip out my Axim X30 while I'm in the field, pull down a field to go to a bike's entry, and view its service history or update it. Then back at the office, sync up the Axim with my main computer and have it update the database. I'm willing to use Excel that is already on the Axim, but it seems like there would be a more elegant app that could sync up databases with field data. Anyone have any suggestions? | |||||

If you have some db programming experience both SprintDB Pro and abcDB will work. Both have PC-based development modules which may be easier to use than trying to do everything on the PPC. HandBase may work also depending on how complex your database is.

I don't know if Access has a PPC version. Check out HanDBase (DDH Software). I've created very simple DBs on it and it works great on PC and PPC.

Thanks guys, that gives me a good jumping point. I had heard about HanDbase before, but wasn't sure if it would interface with Access, and I hadn't heard of the other two before. I'm looking forward to putting them through their paces.
