Why has it gone so QUIET!

So, what's happened? Checking this subject on this website a month ago or even less and there were new threads and replies almost by the second about this Windows Mobile thing. Where is it, they've delayed my order again, it's screwed up my machine etc etc.
Now if you leave it about an hour and come back to the site, you might be lucky or unlucky and find no-one has added any additional information whatsoever in that short time.
So where has everyone gone? Have we all gone to HP or some other Company? Or have we got so fed up with either Dell's lies or other's rumours that we don't care any more?
This subject has done wonders to improve the popularity of the Axim site. I for one had never been here before and although I am an ex-owner of a Axim, I still visit on a daily basis. I mean, I have to do a bit of my job now as I have nothing to read on the site now! What will we all do when we have received our ROM update/CD? Doesn't bear worth thinking about! Might have to start talking to the wife again.............

Still waiting for that upgrade CD though :realmad:

Maybe...because people are starting to get the CDs they are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And as we all know crying and whining to Dell didn't make a bit of difference.

I dont know how much the Dell fiasco has contributed to thread posts, but I am very sure that it is going to affect current customers purchases from them in the future. You cannot sell/upgrade a product and not give a crap about the customers that you have left hanging (without any kind of useful information). I love my Axim, but it makes me a little wary about buying a new PC or anything else through dell!

I bet that when the sales slump it WILL affect the thread posts as the number of axim users will drop.

Actually I don't think that this would neccesarily indicate that Axim sales are dropping. Let's keep in mind that there are only about 50 regulars posting to this site consistently, and when you compare this to the number of total Axim owners out there you will find that it really isn't even a drop in the bucket.

I think that what may be happening is that the demographics of Axim owners may change. There were many cutting edge gadget people buying Axim's when it first came out because it was truly a unique product at the time. I think that you will find that these people were also the most likely to post here because many were gadget freaks (no offense, I readily admit to being one myself) who wanted to get the most out of thier Axims.

I think that these people were probably the most eager to get their hands on WM2003 and when they saw how Dell handled the situation and knowing that there are other options out there many of them probably switched to iPaqs or gave up on Dell and are looking towards their next upgrades. Let's keep in mind that a great percentage of the normal non-tech oriented Axim owners out there have never even visited this site and probably have no idea what WM2003 is and know even less about what has been going on for the past few months. Many of these people probably have nothing against Dell and they wouldn't object to buying from them again.

So in the end, the number of customers Dell will lose through this may not be so high. It is just that the customers they will lose will be the most vocal and ethusiastic and the most likely to visit message boards and post.
