Linksys WCF11 & Windows Mobile 2003 Success
Emailed Linksys about WCF11 WM2K3 support and they sent their cookie cutter reply, "no, don't know, yada yada...."
Did the following as instructed in another post for the WCF12 card and it worked. Have been able to access my network and use pIE. No look ActiveSync'ing over the network, but I haven't spent too much time with it to this point. ----- To summarize here: 1) download and install the SL-2511CF & SL-2511CD / WLAN_ForWinCENET400.zip / Windows CE.NET4.0 driver from the http://www.senao.com/service%20&%20...%20download.htm site. 2) Perform the soft reset and insert the Linksys WCF12 card 3) You should get the “unrecognized card” message. Enter “wlannds.dll”. 4) The friendly and familiar green link light should appear and your network should be visible. You can ignore the message "Cannot find 'WLANSTA' " after you soft reset. This is for the WLAN Status Icon utility that was installed in the programs area, it's not required. You can just remove it from the Startup (via windows explorer)

Re: Linksys WCF11 & Windows Mobile 2003 Success
Quote:
when i emailed linksys, both their tech support and sales said that they had a beta for wcf12 which would be ready in 4 weeks but they weren't going to make wcf11 drivers for wm2003. needless to say, already having a wcf11, i was disappointed. i had found the wcf12 instructions on the web and tried them on the wcf11 with no luck. then i found your post and noticed the bit about naming the card "wlannds.dll" which was the only difference. i tried again and now it's working perfectly. now all i need is to receive the patch dell promised almost 2 months and i'll have a properly functioning pda.

I am about to give up........................
Can't get my Axim (updated with 05 Rom) to work with my Linksys WCF11 CF Card. Performed a hard reset (just to be sure, have been trying other drivers too), installed the Senoa driver. Everything OK so far, have 2 (!) entries "802.11b Wireless LAN PC Card" but cannot connect to my Edimac EW-7205AP Access Point. The green light on the WCF11 keeps blinking. In going through all the settings on my Axim I found out that under the power settings is a "wireless" tab. The radio button says "wireless signals off" and it cannot be changed to the "on" status. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not using WEP and I disabled the broadcasting of the network name on the AP. Make sure you have the same network name that is used by your AP.
I have the WCF11 working with the A05 ROM version.

Rapid,
Thanks for your suggestions. I will try it out. BTW, where do you enter (on the Axim) the network name?

hey rapid... i don't know if you can help me out here, but i just can't seem to get my network card working AT ALL again.
i've installed the drivers (had some trouble getting the install ap working :?), they should be on my ppc. i get the green light for a sec before it doesn't know what the card is, i put in wlannds.dll, and then i've had it where i don't see the light, sometimes i have and the ppc freezes while the card is in there... some funky stuff. any help is greatly appreciated ![]()

Linksys WCF11 and 12 / Mobile 2003 workaround
Linksys WCF11 and 12 / Mobile 2003 workaround!
Follow these instructions, they worked for me! The Step-by-Step method has been confirmed to work on the following CF cards by members of this forum: D-Link 660W Netgear MA701 Linksys WCF12/WCF11 SMC SMC2642W These are the basic steps I use, so hopefully it is fairly accurate 1) Download the Senao SL-2511CF Windows CE.NET 4.0 Driver Senao SL-2511CF Download Page: http://www.senao.com/default-1.htm Senao SL-2511CF Windows CE.NET 4.0 Driver: http://www.senao.com/service%20&%20...WinCENET400.zip These drivers are compatible with PocketWarrior and allow you to shut off your wireless card (Connectivity->Turn Wireless off). 2) Run the installer (WLAN_ForWinCENET400.exe) and then do a soft reset. 3) You will get the following message (but don't panic!): WLANSTA.exe Cannot find 'WLANSTA' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available. Unfortunately this utility (wlansta.exe) does not work in this configuration, so you should remove it from your windows startup folder. Start file explorer Start->Programs->File Explorer Delete the 'WLANSTA' file from your startup folder \MyDevice\Windows\Startup\WLAN Status... 4) Insert your 802.11b CF card 5) The OS should give you and "Unrecognized Card" dialog box. 6) Enter 'wlannds.dll' (without quotes) into the text box and click 'Ok'. 7) A New Network Detected box should appear if you have an existing wireless network 8) Select 'Work' and then the 'Connect' button 9) Enter your WEP key 10) Press Connect 11) Verify your connection status (a, b or c) a) Click on the double arrow icon on the top task bar b) Start->Settings->Connections tab->Connections->Advanced Tab->Network Card In the wireless networks box, you should see the name of the network SSID and Connected c) Use Internet Explorer to attach to the net Start->Internet Explorer Select a website from the favorites option (i.e. press the star) Example: Pocket PC.com (http://pocketpc.com)

I've got the exact same problem as Shmolky above.
I never get the "A New Network Detected box". At best, I get a flashing green light and a lockup. I hate linksys. I can't believe a reputable company can't get its act together on this. I'll never buy from them again. Thanks for trying.

If you're having problems, try a hard reset and start again. Pain in the ass, I know, but I did that before I set up the network card.
It's been working great for months, and I've loaded up all kinds of junk since then. Even did a bit of war driving with no problems. I've been using gsplayer to stream shoutcast internet radio at night and its great. Plus I can now use messenger on the loo! ![]() The only downside is that it sucks battery juice, if it had it's own drivers, I presume it would have power saving.

Thank you!!! I just upgraded to PPC2003 and tried to get my Linksys to work. Nothing! I tried the Dell website, the Linksys website, and even looked at Microsoft. Then it hit me, if anyone would know it would be at Aximsite! And sure enough it was. I went through the steps one by one and everything worked fine on the first attempt. THANKS!!!!!

Works, but the trick is the drivers, there are two drivers.
The right one is WLAN_ForWinCENET400.zip 3716K download from http://www.senao.com/default-1.htm The bad one is from. http://www.senao.com.tw/english/prod...rocat=Wireless
