Need Help with POP3 Issue

I have a user that is using an iPaq to wirelessly download her exchange mail via POP3 to her pda. The pda is running WM5 with Outlook 2002. The account is set up properly and downloads all her emails when it connects wirelessly. The hitch is, as soon as it downloads all the emails, it marks all of the ones it has just downloaded as "read" (or unmarks them as new) in Outlook 2003 on her desktop. She just received a new desktop model within the past month and this issue wasn't occuring on the previous pc. I would appreciate any help cause I've run out of ideas and she's running out of patience.

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Other tab.
Click Reading Pane.

Make sure to uncheck "the Mark items as read when viewed in the Reading Pane" check box.

Also make sure the inbox is not checked in the AS sync options.

If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll do a little more research.

Alright,

I checked the reading pane options and they are already disabled, as well as the reading pane itself. ActiveSync was configured from the start to not sync email, she only wanted to be able to access it wirelessly using POP. I appreciate your help. If you happen across anything else, I'd love to hear about it.

I'll do some more research. I'm using WM2003SE with Outlook 2003. I'm wondering if WM5 is the issue.

After talking to my IT ppl and doing a little research, the problem would appear to be in the account setup with the MS Exchange Server.

It's pretty complicated as I see it. I could only make some guesses as to a resolution. When I look at my setup there is no POP3 account listed. Only MSES account. Yet, I still get the messages to my PDA when I'm docked. I've never done it wireless since there's no need.

However, she's downloading via wireless. IF my supposition is correct, her Outlook account needs to be setup as the primary and the POP3 needs to be the secondary. You'll need to go into the E-mail Accounts to verify which one is the primary.

Let me know what happens.
