I think you're missing something - this isn't about getting them - it's about ordering them. :)

You can't get it until they'll let you order them. As I noted, they seem to be fulfilling the updates and then the upgrades still in the system - but people in Canada (and I assume the US too) can't actually put their order back into the system.

That's doubly vexing for those of us who did have an order in but had Dell cancel it without asking if we'd like to keep it in the queue.

We're painfully aware that people are getting the upgrades.. very painfully aware of it. :)

I bought my X5 in July (I think it was) and was one of the WM2003 folks with the issues and needed the patch. I never called Dell or anything yet they sent me the CD with the fix on it a few days ago via overnight.

sleeby, as a guess - since you can only get Axims from Dell directly (correct me if I'm wrong - as far as I know they've never sold them through third parties), then as soon as you bought one, you and your address have to be in their database.

Since they know which units are 'defective', all they'd have to do is pull a list of customer either by date or by serial number run and send CDs pretty much automatically.

For those who didn't see the "WM2003 is shipping in Canada" thread... uh... WM2003 upgrade is shipping in Canada. :)

Just a week later than expected this time...

Everyone keep their finger crossed. :)

Has anyone that has ordered the WM 2003 upgrade from Dell AND is not entitled to the free upgrade actually received the disks yet? From the posts in this thread and others in this forum it is very tough to tell - looks like it's just the free one. Like JeffLewis, my order got cancelled without warning. I just got off the phone with yet another Dell online sales rep who couldn't find the product number so I could re-order it, and he couldn't tell me anything useful about how/when I might be able to order. He seemed to recall hearing that it had been delayed to late October. Big help that!

If anyone can answer YES to both parts of my initial question, would you please post back with a part or SKU number? I saw someone had asked for this earlier but received no reply.

JeffLewis - Thanks for trying to shed some light on this unnecessarily complicated issue. I can't quite believe that a company as large and successful as Dell has dropped the ball so completely.
