I tried upgrading and got almost finished when on the screen it says:

v2.0 A03 (08220300).
-->Pocket PC 2003(A05)..
PSM Erase: ........
Erase: Error in Block Erase.

then nothing. What went wrong. Is it recoverable?

did you try a soft reset?

if it didnt work, did you try a hard reset?

Thanks. Yeah, I tried soft reset several times but it came up the same. A hard reset actually gave me back PC 2002, so I guess the ROM didn't flash with 2003. I'll have to try again tomorrow.

OK, I've tried the hard reset twice now with the same results. Has anyone else seen thsi problem? Two questions: I'm running A02, are there any problems updating from this ROM version.? And why does it get me back to PC 2002 when I hard reset? It's almost all the way through the installation. There are messages saying it's copying files and updating. I've also tried installing from two different desktops so I don't think it can be because of that.
