It's Here!

I'm stunned... I actually received my upgrade in the mail yesterday. I then backed up my PPC and installed it without a single hiccup and was back up and running within an hour including the upgrade, reinstallation of my wireless drivers and configuration, installation and activation of the latest Microsoft Reader, and installation of the various apps and utilities that I use.

My PPC now on A05/WM2003 is working flawlessly, and seems to perform without any noticable drop in speed. In some cases the percieved response time is faster than that of A03/PPC2002. It also seems to sync and transfer files via the cradle a bit faster.

So, I'm happy with the upgrade... Now let's talk Dell...

I own two units, one for me and one for my wife. I spent nearly two weeks of back and forth wrangling with Dell to get two upgrades ordered (just to make everything official and legal). I finally got two orders into Dell's system and have been patiently waiting. Well, I only received one upgrade yesterday....

I checked Dell's order status page, and low-and-behold, one of my two orders shows Shipped, and the other has been Cancelled! I then wrote back to Dell via email to the same address/person that finally got everything taken care of originally. I got back a response stating that they no longer could help me, but I'd have to go back through the sales channel to purchase another upgrade even though both upgrades qualify as free!

Now I'm at a loss as to whether I should even bother with this. Dealing with Dell's sales/support teams on any level has been nothing but a frustrating colossal waste of my time. I've got software in hand, which by the looks of the threads here is nothing short of a miracle. So now I'm left using one license on two devices or fighting it out again with Dell... What a pain in the A**!!!
