I got my upgrade CD today. 09/19. I installed 2003 and did everything by the book. Saved old ROM. I have Activesync 3.7 and Outlook 2002. When trying to install my programs back onto my Axim it crashes. I called Dell and was told. " The upgrade will crash on ocassion and on some units this software install issue has been reported". They say a ROM update will be posted in the next 2-3 days to correct this. Deja-vu here we go again. Has anyone else seen this issue ?

no havent heard of this but this isn't good news!!!

this may be a silly question - but are the programs compatible with wm2003? also, elsewhere on this site i have read that the back-up you perform prior to install of wm2003 is in ppc2002 and therefore won't work. it's just a "just in case" back-up.

Goodish news. I reinstalled the 2002 ROM then reinstalled the 2003. It works now ! It has only frozen once and that may have been my fault. So no need to panic for now !! Otherwise it looks good. I still don't understand the ptch comment from Dell.
