Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...loper/evb.mspx to download evb runtime. I had one program that wouldn't run until I installed it. Works great now.

Yeah, eVB programs that were written for PocketPC2002 will not run on WM2003 without you first installing this runtime. Just install the file from the link that Steve provided, and you'll be set.

Thanks for the link I needed it

I was just surfing around and when I found your link it was just the last bit of info I needed to the one program that wouldn't run on 2003. Thanks again. Pocketloancal needs the vb runtime.

SteveFe

Thank you - many times over.

You Da Man!!

Just spent 2 hours searching MS for this with no luck, coming here was sort of a last gasp chance. I should have come here first.
Have two unhappy apps, Newton IP Calc & Pocketloancalc - both freebies, but useful.:D

Does anyone know if this same download will work with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition? The download site says, "You should not download the eVB Runtime unless you have a Pocket PC 2003 device." Technically, WM 2003 is not Pocket PC 2003, but I suspect they're not that different, and even if they were, the problem with earlier versions would be the same.

Broken Link?

When I go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility/w...loads/evb.aspx and then click the Download Now button, i am getting a page that says "Sorry, we were unable to service your request. As an option, you may visit any of the pages below for information about Microsoft services and products. "

Any Ideas?

Next step

I downloaded the file as a .cab and when I open it I only get a file list via winzip. Do you extract a specific file, copy all into the axim or what, please?
I appreciate the help.

CAB files are meant to be installed directly on the PPC. Copy the downloaded file (via ActiveSync or card reader)to your axim and using a ppc file explorer, find the file and click on it to install.

You may also want to check out the Knowledge Base tutorial for Installing, Running and Uninstalling Software
