Question Ldap Directory error message when syncing

Ok I need some help here, I upgraded to 2003 and now I get this ldap directory errror when I sync and when I start outlook. I uninstalled outlook 2000 before I upgraded and when 2002 loaded it found all my old emails that were in the 2000 version???

I don't typically use my ax for internet usage but I do place phone numbers and other info on it with the calander functions and I want this to stop giving me the error message with out totally crippling outlook, any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Problem fixed

In case anyone else has this problem I found out how to stop it and everything seems to be working fine. What I did was to go into Outlook and click on Tools, then email accounts and then under Directories click on view or change directories and remove the active directory and leave the outlook address book type mapi. After doing this I then added a contact from my pda and synced the info to Outlook and then made another contact in Outlook and everything went well. Now I don't get those three message boxes when I sync or the one box when I open Outlook.
I hope this helps anyone else out there.

I am trying to set up my laptop to sync w/Axim x50 w/outlook 02' and get an LDAP screen requiring password, etc. Took me ALL DAY (no kidding) to even find out what LDAP is. Stands for Lightweight something or other. (Its evidently used by big corporations to synch employees address books or whatever). How it found it's way into my system I don't know. Desktop installation works fine. The last hour of the day was spent talking to Microsoft (after exhausting all avenues but this site) they would not even talk to me without a $35 payment. After an hour the guy promised to call back this AM but hasn't. Anyone know how to get rid of this monster? To ahnk; i am trying your suggestion but do not understand " leave the outlook address book type mapi." Can you help?? Thanks

to ahnk RE: LDAP

Figured it out (with help). Feel like I should send you the $35 Microsoft demanded (and still could not fix the problem). No wonder Bill Gastes is loaded. Thanks a bunch!!!

Thanks so much. I am a newbie and this problem vexed me for days until I remembered this web site and got an answer. Worked beautifully. :)
