Where's my disk, man?
Has anyone else recently bought an Axim and received it with 2003 installed but with no OS disk with it?
I got my 400mhz a couple of weeks ago and just noticed there's only a "companion disk" with it which has Outlook 2003 and a few other things. But no WM2003, What the hay, eh?

We just received a new one at work last week and it was the same way.....only a companion disk with ActiveSync and Outlook 2002 but no OS.

There is no OS disk for PPC devices, the OS is stored in the read-only ROM. If you have a hard reset, it just defaults back to factory settings.

One way to get a wm2003 disk is to order the upgrade. Mine included A05 ROM and the companion disk had Activesync 3.7 and Outlook 2002 (same Outlook that comes with the Office XP suite). The wm2003 disk wipes the Axim, but if you sync before to Outlook you can restore data without a problem. You'll need to reinstall apps and games not included with the disk though...

Hookay...
Maybe I don't understand this fully, but not having the OS disk suggests I'll _never_ have the need to reinstall the OS?
Hmm... If this is indeed the case, it would be a way radical departure from any Win OS I've touched in the last ten years.
Thanks to all who responded, it's appreciated.
