300 Mhz and WM2003

Is there any problems upgrading the 300 Mhz Axim to 2003? I am just worried about it slowing down the slower system.

If it speeds up (slightly) operations on the 400 Axim, why would it do anything else on the 300?

Just remember the upgrade is worth its $30+ shipping cost. Its pretty cheap and it really doesn't change all that much. The biggest improvement is in connectivity.

Noticed speed increase

I upgraded my Axim 400 to wm2003 today and noticed a definite speed increase over 2002. I would bet a 300mhz Axim would see an increase in speed as well.

Worried Updating to 2003

I just updated to Pocket PC 2003 and now my WCF11 Wireless CF card doesn't work. The PDA says the card is unrecognized and the software won't install with this new version. Is there a driver somewhere that I can download to help me somewhere?

Hope this Helps...

Try this.....I found this on another Dell Axim post and copied it.

Go and download the software, WLAN_ForWinCENET400.zip from http://www.senao.com/default-1.htm "Run the installer and then do a soft reset. Then power back up and insert your Linksys card. The OS should give you and "Unrecognized card" pop-up. Enter 'wlannds.dll' (without quotes) into the input box and click 'Ok'.

Your link light should now be flashing green and you will be notified of the existing 802.11b networks within range (if any).

Going to 'Start->Settings->Connections->Connections' will also let you see networks w/in range."

I cant guarantee this will work....hope it does though!

Thanks

I followed the directions and it works perfectly. Thank you so much. By the way I really like Mobile 2003 and now that I have my wireless network working everything is great now.

and just so you know, probably in less then a month, official drivers will start coming out, and your WCF11 will be able to work with power saving modes, and a full utility program like in PPC2002.

Since its working fine for you, theres no reason to install the linksys beta driver which is out, becaues it probably wont be "any" better, also there is no power saving mode for that either and right now thats the big concern with WM2003 and wifi cards, nonetheless congrats on your successful upgrade
