Ok, I've finally run out of patience and got pissed.
I purchased my Axim in June and by late June or early July called them up to ask for the free 2003 upgrade under their 30-day guarantee program. The order, due to issues we all know of, was delayed and delayed. It was fine as I knew they were working hard to get the issues solved. But when everyone started receiving their CDs while my order sitting idle with a status of "In Production", I called their CS. The rep couldn't explain anything except saying that he will reorder it for me and there will be no charge.
However, when I just checked their on-line order status, the original order is still shown with "In Production" but the content when you click on it has be changed to:
"Currently one or more items are not available. Every effort is being made to complete your order."
instead of original outdated early Sept. ship date.
And the best part is? The new order not only shows a price of $12.00, but an estimated ship date of Nov. 7, 2003.
BTW the SKU is 310-4212 and desc. is "PPC2K3 TECH GUARANTEE, ENG". I hope this is the right CD.
With all these my expectation with Dell has gradually soured. I used to be quite excited about their good products at good price, but they have by far lost another $2000 from me- I bought Compaq/HP X1000 notebook instead of their 8600 and consider this a good call.
