avantgo wouldnt sync once I upgraded 2K3... did the whole delete account/recreate account BS... ok.. not working... did the uninstall avantgo ... ok no go... now I come back to desktop and stupid activeSync wont work... at all... i get the icon in the systray but double clicking it makes nothing, hell it even supposedly sync but I get nothing... things like this just make me want to sell the damn thing and go back to PALM...

word to Dell and Microsoft... YO! YOUR MS2K3 LAUNCH WAS A CROP OF CRAP... just in case you havent noticed ... god knows how many things have gone wrong for most everyone that installs your software and the loss of bussiness you get out of this you deserve it...

add to that, uninstall avantgo and active sync and reinstall activesync... no go... god I hate this thing... i read in other posts to Hard Reset the Ax. I am sorry but that is just plain dumb, because one program wont work then I must get rid of them all?? this is stupid...

First thing I did after the upgrade was removing the underscore from the Axim name. When my Axim wont sync, I just do a soft reset. As far as Avantgo is concerned, after the upgrade, I chose to sync it in ActiveSync, then did a complete sync. I then wen't into Settings -> Connections -> Avantgo -> properties and entered my username and password. Sync'd again and all my channels appeared. No matter how many problems I have, I will never go back to palm.

Completely remove all activesync files from your pc and then go into the registry and delete all reference to activesync. Then re-install, that did it for me.

I had problems with Avantgo sync when I was on PPC 2002. So the issues just transferred over in 2k3. I have almost totally abandoned Avantgo in favor of Mobipocket.

I am having major issues with Activesync 3.7 now every time I put the Ax in the cradle to sync the damn install program screen pops up. And no there are no programs waiting to install.
It pops up as soon as a connection is made and then it screws up the sync and makes the dang system go all haywire. I usually get the old unresolved issue thing. I have tried to even uninstall active sync and reinstall. No go, why cuz Microsoft in their infinite wisdom keeps the settings somewhere on the system even after you uninstall. So then when I reload it still does it. I think nothing short of a total system reload will work.

I love microsoft...no really I do.:crooked:

i had this and guess what? it went away by itself on 2002...

I agree with Old Codger. Uninstall and re-install ActiveSync. I personally deleted my partnership when I upgraded. Had to fix the ldap issue in Outlook 2002, but other than that, it's 100% operational. Just finished re-installing my apps. Don't give up. You'll get it.

I was having problems with Avantgo in 2003 (after it worked initially) and saw elsewhere on this site the fix. Go into active sync and remove your user name and password. Then Avantgo will reinstall itself on sync, put in your user name and password, and walla, it works again....Been fine for 2 days now.....

I give up - brand new Axim X5 400 - with 2003 - already installed - Avantgo is all there in the ACtive Sync - but no sign of it in the Axim; tried getting going under the Axim Internet Explorer - nada, nothing - just doesn't seem to go into the Axim (worked like a charm in my Palm!)

Where do you find your user name and password in Active Sync - I tried - no luck there either

My Avantgo icon didn't show up in connections until I did my first ActiveSync. The username and password is there. If you haven't already hard reset and deleted all partnerships including files in ActiveSync, I'd do that and start over from scratch. ActiveSync, then look for the icon in connections. :(

i have trouble with activesync too. i upgraded to A05 rom and did a hard reset, and reinstalled activesync, with no luck. the hard rest part is really no biggie, just make a full backup first and then you Ax will be right back where you left it

? wont making a back up, the hard reset, then restore back up bring back the problem once again? i mean doesnt the full back up bring it back to the way it was before I did the hard reset, thes the state where Avantgo doesnt work?
