WCF12 Linksys Wireless CompactFlash Card
Anyone having problems getting this card to work after upgrading to PPC2003? After installing the drivers, when the card is inserted it pops up with a unrecognized card message and wants to know the device driver name.
Have not found much info from Linksys on this.

You need the beta drivers. See the thread on downloading the beta drivers for the WCF12.

Macjbraun is right, I downloaded those drivers and everything worked great! Make sure you run the setup before you insert the Linksys card though.

I downloaded the beta drivers, installed it, copied the data cabs into the Axim..it worked fine for 15 minutes, after that i lost connection, froze my Axim and never recognized my network since. Linksys CF card is buggy! Do not buy this wi-fi CF card! I'm getting a SOCKET COMMUNICATIONS CF instead. I tried reinstalling and uninstalling drivers, they still don't work since the disconnection. It doesn't recognize my network...

CF Wifi has always worked fine for me. I have used Dell's and Linksys's brands with this too. What Data CAB file did you copy to your Axim? There should be not copying involved when installing Linksys's beta driver.

I installed the Beta Drivers by ActiveStink too. Mine has worked without problems. I also have a Belkin CF Bluetooth Card that also works flawlessly with the Dell truemobile Drivers. I upgraded 2.5 weeks ago and have had no problems swapping the cards and connecting to my home net, t-mobile at Starbucks or My cell phone.
I also loaded IPconfig to use the release/renew functions when swapping from one network to another. it sometimes takes a minute or two for the Ax to realize I loaded a Wifi Card and not the BT card, but not long.

You make it sound so easy. I have been battling with getting my Linksys WCF12 to work and it still doesn't.
Can you post what you did to get it working or anything you know that will make it not work. I think I installed the drivers incorrectly or something.
Thanks!

1.Hard reset and do not put in the card until after you load the drivers.
2. Connect to desktop and activesync.
3. after it is synced up open your web browser on your desktop.
follow the link earlier in the thread for the drivers. Download and open the drivers to load into your axim. I also downloaded IPconfig.( I ran it then later saved it to the desktop.
4. Remove Axim from cradle/desktop connection.
5.Insert CF card and make your connection.
I usually turn WEP off to start with.
Then after connected I will Turn on WEP, Set up MAC address filtering, Turn off SSID Broadcasting, Disable Ping etc. for security.
This what I did..I hope it works for you too! No gaurantees.
