Dell has been telling users to plug the cradle into a powered USB hub. What a lame excuse for some mistake they made in their BIOS. If my Axim sync'd fine on PocketPC 2002 and the old BIOS version, it should sync fine now. Nothing has changed... my USB ports have PLENTY of power.

John Pellet posted this in another thread. I tried it and my connections have been rock solid.

WM2003 Disconnect Fix?
Been having the same random disconnects with WM 2003 & AS 3.7.1. Yesterday, a Dell tech gave me a fix to try tat I've not seen here or on Dell's site..

From the AS desktop icon go to properties, select compatibility tab and choose NT4SP5 compatibility layer.

Since making the change, I've been connected for 30 hours with no drop!

Good luck!

Wow, I thought I was the only 1 with this problem. It's been driving be banana's. I was ready to restore from backup. Currently testing the device manager>usb root, power management trick and JakeRich's advice.

Day 2:
-----------------
Here are my results. This morning when I plugged the axim back into the cradle, it disconnected 10 times. I've now uninstalled ICBAR, to see what happens.

Day 2: afternoon:
-----------------
After uninstalling ic Bar (you also need to remove the shortcut in the \windows\startup\ folder, it will be called wis bar, otherwise everytime you do a soft reset, it gives you an error), it hasn't kicked me out of active sync since.

I was having this problem until i tried the response from clone7 on the 18/11. Changing the properties under the usb power management cured the problem.

Thanks
