HUH??? Why should I do that? I am not having any problems with ClearType.

geeze, with all these problems your having with the retail disk I'm suprised I got a fixed copy to go onto mine with no problem. If I had money I could buy the updates, unless one of you would like to send me the extra one dell sent to you :)

you said you had fuzzy look to everything. i had this problem to but it was directly related to a prog that had the clear type box checked <switch turned on>

the setting is reversed in the upgrade to WM2003 from PPC2002. So unchecking it will clear it up. You will have to check every prog you have installed too make sure that it isn't turned on. I have 3 progs that will turn on Clear Type. Resco Explorer, OmegaOne Program Bar, and the settings/screen/cleartype. Just thought I'd pass that on.

I made about 4 attempts to upgrade to 2003 last night. The upgrade finally took on the last attempt, but my Buffalo wifi card doesn't work. I tried to defer back to '02 but the back up is not working. Is there another way to restore the original configuration?

Well... if you go back to the previous page and look at the message carefully I DID NOT SAY THAT. I was merely quoting your message and telling you that my screen looked OK.

Just wanted to say that I too had the same problems with the install hanging up. Spent a long time searching Dells sight and found that you should use USB 2.0. Once I did this I had no problems with the upgrade and everything went great.
