Dell OEM Outlook 2002
I was running Outlook 2000 on most of my PC's, so when I saw that the assessory disk that came with the upgrade had Outlook 2002 I said (to myself), why not??
Well, I guess I did not read the Microsoft fine print! I installed it on my newest PC and activated it. The resulting program had some issues which I stumbled through fixing. The install on my notebook went even better. BUT, when I tried to activate (via the internet) the Microsoft Gods said it was already activated on another computer. "No problem" I said (again, to myself), "Microsoft has always had a policy of allowing software to be installed on a desktop and laptop computer of the same owner. I'll just activate by phone."
Well, went through the whole AI voice activation thingy (which seems to work rather well) only to be given to a real person. When I explaned my situation I was told that that policy (of allowing software to exist on more then one machine of the same owner) does not apply to "OEM" versions! Suck city!!!
Now that I have installed over 2000 and have no idea of where the Office 2000 set of disks are, I have a notebook without Outlook.....
