so is there gonna be a WM2004?

do you think (or does anyone know) microsoft will continue to release new versions of windows mobile every year or will this only be an every few years thing? i have no idea, i was just curious. with their desktop OSs, they don't really seem to have any set release pattern, but they seem to release other software in yearly intervals (money, streets and trips, etc.).

I believe that they will HAVE to come up w/something better. A REAL os if you ask me. Once a sufficient standard (which 02 and 03 DON'T stand up to) has been created, then and only then do I see them stopping and spending a couple of years working on more. Until then it's sort of a joke and can be quickly created (hence the yearly instalments) with minimal effort.

Just my .02

Of course the way Dell is going, it might be 2004 before they release WM2003 :bang:

I'm using 2003 and not intendding to get 04. When I was upgrading to 03, I had to go thorough so much trouble that I almost felt like paying another 300$ for new axim. Can't imagine what i'll have to do for 2004.

Don't feel bad, you aren't experiencing the devices that aren't supported for no drivers and the software that doesn't work because it needs a patch. 2003 is no walk on the beach for that kind of problem. :crooked:

I do agree with suemccartin to some extent, however, after I got the small things worked out I would never go back to 2k2. With any OS upgrade, you will run in to compatibility issues.

WM2k3’s connection settings along are enough to keep this OS, not to mention I have noticed a significant speed increase in most apps when running this.

same here. the speed (huge speed increase for me) and connectivity intuitiveness alone makes 2003 great. it stable and fast as can be on my axim.
