I called dell sales support, and dell says they will not sell upgrade CD's right now and are back ordered untill november. I guess this is right, but some people got CD's already. Can I order on there site? (I couldn't find it on there site, i hate there layout)

As far as I know you can only order the upgrade on the phone.

Talked to an English speaking guy named Aaron.
He only said they were taking preorders and I had an estimated ship date of 11/11, so I guess they're really not in sync w/production.

Ok so I called back, got a diffrent guy, and could order a CD this time. I ordered it today, oct. 1st, we will se how fast I get it, but seems everyone is getting it fast so I can hope right? I hope its worth the $, cause I couldn't talk my guy into giving it for free. 36 and change after tax and shipping.

ugh why cant i have the old dell, about 3 years ago when they rocked!

They are soooo messed up. Be careful of what you wish for!

I called Monday 9/29, got an Indian speaking lady, barely comprehending english, phone connection horrible (obviously they ip it over to India), had no idea what I wanted, on hold, fifteen minutes later, she found it, would not comp me but gave me free shipping. Checked on the web site later and the order was there with an estimated shipdate of 11/11/03. Checked the next day and it had already been left at my front door.

Upgrading that night was painful as all 3rd party programs have to be reinstalled one-by-one. The speed gains of the unit is impressive and the WiFi is fast, pocketIE much improved.

However, sadly as I type this, I am restoring the PPC 2002 ROM. My Belkin CF BT card does have 03 drivers and no resolutuion is in site. An Ambicom CF BT card briefly worked, but is crap, that why a bought the Belkin. Other favorite programs of mine do not work.

So its back to PPC2002 until Belkin gets its act together. I'm not springing for a 3rd CF BT card. I need BT for my GPS to work, that why I bought the PDA in the first place (I use it while flying).

Make sure you really can use the upgrade with your current configuration before ordering!!!

i fully agree joshua. the primary use of my axim is iGuidance iwth my fortuna bluetooth gps. i too was a sucker, and have a belkin card. USELESS with 2003. i too am back to 2002.

Went to www.dell and did a search for pocket pc 2003. Found the update and ordered it online.

$29.00 plus $8.00 for shipping.
