Restore doesn't work..
Ok, so I finally got the Update CD from Dell to create a -good working- WM2003 and go from A04 to A0 (if i'm not mistaken).

Of course, I did a full back up, so I could easily restore all the information stored on the Axim. I ran the Update, and everything seemed all right.. but now when I want to restore the backup, ActiveSync tells me "Restore cannot be completed succesfully. The selected backup file was created from a different of mobile device."

Anyone an idea on how to solve this?

you where supposed to install active sync 3.7 first then do your back ups following the new procedure.. then do your update to 2003..then after that you could install your backup...as far as i know if you didn't follow that procedure all you can do is start reinstalling programs and data....your data from outlook should still be on your puter though so that shouldn't be lost

Actually, the directions specifically say that backup will not work. The directions specifically say to make sure everything is synced, do the upgrade, log on as guest and have ActiveSync sync the files back to your Ax. Sooooo,

Have you tried logging on as guest and letting the files sync back to your Ax? Your applications will have to be reinstalled.

Another alternative is, if you happened to do the suggested backup of your old system, you can restore it, restore the backed up files and then install A05 the correct way.

Good luck.

Sorry, should have also mentioned that backups using Pocket Backup Pro can be restored after the upgrade to A05.
